Dr. Susan Whaley graduated magna cum laude from the University of Central Florida and the University of Houston College of Optometry. She completed her externship training at Bay Pines Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida and at the Eye Foundation in Orlando, Florida. She is actively involved in clinical research regarding the development of new contact lenses and solutions and serves as a Principle Investigator for Vistakon, Alcon, CooperVision and Bausch & Lomb.
Dr. Whaley is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, an organization dedicated to the highest standards of optometric practice through clinical care, education, and research. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, a designation currently held by approximately five percent of optometrists nationwide. She is a member and past President Northwest Florida Optometric Association. Dr. Whaley is also a member of the Florida Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, and of Wildwood Church.
